In high school volleyball last night…
- Hancock defeated Houghton 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-10). The Bulldogs remain unbeaten in best-of-five-set matches.
- Calumet blanked Marquette 3-0 (25-11, 25-17, 25-19). Hear the game replay here. During the game, Millie Loukus was honored for passing the 1,000 career assists mark, and Jess Anderson was honored for passing the 1,000 career digs mark.
- Jeffers swept Wakefield-Marenisco 3-0.
- Ewen-Trout Creek shut down Bessemer 3-0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-8)
- Ontonagon smothered Watersmeet 3-0 (25-2, 25-6, 25-5).
- Forest Park swept Munising 3-0 (25-6, 25-18, 25-12).
Houghton swept the team titles at the Westwood Invitational cross country meet yesterday.
- On the girls side, Negaunee was the only other school with enough runners to qualify in the team competition. Holly Cooke, Norah Woodruff and Emma Jukuri of the Gremlins claimed the top three individual positions.
- On the boys side, Negaunee placed second, followed by Jeffers and Westwood. Houghton’s Brandon Van Karson placed first individually.
