Some students drive onto campus to attend class. Others walk from their dorms to academic buildings. But many college students ride bikes to get from one building to another as quickly as possible.
Michigan Technological University will introduce a new bike loan program for students in need of a bicycle for the fall semester. The Michigan Tech Sustainability and Resilience Office recently renewed 10 bicycles that were abandoned on campus.
The bikes will become available to students at no cost and come equipped with helmets, locks and safety lights. Students will need to sign a waiver at checkout near the Van Pelt and Opie Library.
