Two motorcyclists from South Carolina were killed Wednesday in a multi-vehicle crash on US-41 at the intersection of Golf Course Road in Osceola Township.
Michigan State Police troopers responded to the traffic accident at 12:30 p.m. According to a statement from the Calumet post, an SUV driven by a 45-year-old woman was traveling south on the highway and was unaware of a truck stopped ahead of her, that was waiting to turn onto Golf Course Road.
To avoid a collision, the woman entered the northbound lane on US-41 and collided with two motorcycles. The motorcyclists, a 65-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman, were killed in the crash.
The SUV driver and her children were evaluated at the scene by EMS and released. No additional information has been provided pending notification of the families.
