The Tigers had yesterday off, and host the Twins tonight. Troy Melson will start against Taj Bradley. Coverage will begin at 6:15 on 99.3 The Lift.
After a successful rehab start last weekend, Tarik Skubal could return to the Tigers’ rotation as early as this weekend. He’s recovering from minor elbow surgery. Justin Verlander will make his second rehab start for Toledo tomorrow. If that goes well, he could be headed back to the rotation. He’s recovering from hip inflammation. Kenley Jansen is scheduled to pitch in tonight’s Mud Hens’ game. He’s been dealing with groin tightness. Casey Mize will make a rehab start at Single-A Lakeland tonight. He’s also been sidelined with groin tightness.
The Brewers also had yesterday off, and visit the Athletics tonight. Robert Gasser will pitch against J.T. Ginn. The series will be played at Las Vegas Ballpark, the home of the A’s Triple-A affiliate Las Vegas Aviators. The Athletics remain homeless this season, awaiting completion of their new stadium in Vegas. It marks the A’s first MLB games in the city since their move from Oakland was approved several years ago.
Reliever Carlos Rodriguez has landed on the injured list with an achy shoulder.
