Some Western Upper Peninsula streams and rivers could look a little better soon, thanks to a grant from the State of Michigan.
The Iron/Baraga Conservation District is getting $5,000 from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy.
The money will be used to help organize and train volunteer groups for clean-up projects.
The grant is part of nearly $100,000 awarded to local governments and nonprofit organizations across the state for stream cleanup and monitoring.
