Bucks owner Wes Edens was apparently the target of a massive extortion scheme. The Wall Street Journal reports that the 64-year-old billionaire was approached by a former lover, who demanded more than a billion dollars in exchange for not releasing sexually compromising images and videos. Changli “Sophia” Luo of New York City has been charged in the scheme. Edens has not commented, but a spokesman says he plans to testify under oath if the case goes to court. Edens is married.

MLB
The Tigers broke their five-game losing streak with a 6-3 victory over the Royals last night. Gage Workman blasted a pinch-hit home run in his first Detroit at-bat, after being called up from Toledo to fill in for the injured Kerry Carpenter. On a bullpen day, Drew Anderson gave up all three Kansas City runs in the third and fourth innings. Enmanuel De Jesus followed him, and got the win. Kenley Jansen earned the save.
The Tigers have today off, and visit the Mets tomorrow night. Jack Flaherty will start against Freddy Peralta.
Carpenter was added to the injury list with a sprained shoulder, after he crashed into the right field wall during Saturday’s game. To open a space for Workman on the 40-man roster, Justin Verlander was transferred to the 60-day injured list, as he rehabs from hip inflammation. The designation is retroactive to April 1st, and team officials still hope he’ll be ready to rejoin the rotation by early June.
Brice Turang’s homer in the bottom of the ninth gave the Brewers a 4-3 victory over the Yankees.
After sweeping the Yankees in a series for the first time this century, the Brewers also have today off, and host the Padres tomorrow night. Brandon Sproat will pitch against Matt Waldron.
