A Michigan Technological University professor has earned a globally recognized award for his contributions to materials science.
The Minerals, Metals, and Materials Society awarded Michigan Tech materials science professor Yun Hang Hu the Morris Cohen Award for outstanding contributions to materials science at its recent annual honors gala.
“I’m honored to join the prestigious ranks of previous distinguished pioneers that have also received the Morris Cohen Award,” Hu said.
Within the university’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Hu teaches courses in thermodynamics and has led research on superstructure materials, nanomaterials, electrocatalysis, biodegradable plastics and advanced energy devices. He also serves as an affiliated professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Michigan Tech.
