The National Parks Serivces announces it will begin to accept water based commercial use authorizations applications for the 2026 and 2027 season at isle royale in November.
On Monday the Isle Royale National Park announced it will begin accepting CUA applications starting November 1st. Commercial Use authorization permits for the 2026 and 2027 seasons are open for operations participating in guided water-based tours, charter fishing, sightseeing, and transportation, as well as permitting for scuba diving. The application period will remain open for 30 days and close on November 30th, 2025.
The park will issue a limited number of charter fishing CUA permits for the two-year period. In order to obtain a water based commercial use authorization businesses will need to carry a $2,000,000 insurance liability as a part of the minimum insurance requirements.
The national park’s land based CUA application period was opened in 2024 and will reopen in November 2026.
