A Wisconsin woman was killed Friday evening in a snowmobile crash in Schoolcraft County.
Michigan State Police Troopers were called out at around 7:20 to the Haywire Grade Trail in Inwood Township. Other snowmobilers in the area assisted in transporting them to the site, about three miles northwest of Thunder Lake Road.
Upon arrival, they discovered that the 46-year-old woman from Dodgeville, Wisconsin had failed to navigate a curve, and crashed into some trees. Members of her group had already begun CPR and other life-saving efforts by the time Troopers arrived.
Troopers began further lifesaving efforts. Inwood Township EMS and Alger County EMS also assisted, but the woman succumbed to her injuries.
Alcohol or drug use is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
