Michigan State Police arrest a Marquette woman who was driving a stolen vehicle in Negaunee over the weekend. On Saturday at 2:30 pm MSP troopers located a vehicle reported stolen, along with the suspect, 36 year old Megan Quanttrin from Marquette, in a TJ Maxx parking lot. The vehicle had been reported as stolen from Alger County.
Trooper observed Quanttrin exit the vehicle and begin to walk away. After confronting Quanttrin, and verbally commanding her to stop she began to run toward the store. She was chased on foot, and attempted to re-enter the vehicle. Trooper apprehended Quanttrin before she could enter the driver’s seat, and was placed under arrest. Quanttrin has been lodged in the Marquette county jail on resisting and obstructing a police officer.
She was arraigned in 96th district court with bond set at 500 dollars. She will return to court on January 23rd. The Marquette prosecuting attorney reserves the right to review a related case involving the vehicle theft.
