Ten new troopers graduated from the Michigan State Police Training Academy in Lansing this past week, four of which will be soon assigned to posts in the Upper Peninsula. These members of the 151st class of the MSP Academy join approximately 1,200 troopers active statewide.
As part of their studies, new troopers Noah Morse, Daniel Stacks, Seth Bjorne and Connor Bryant were educated in patrol techniques, report writing, ethics, decision making, leadership, first aid, criminal law, firearms, water safety, and precision driving amongst other law enforcement skills.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer said of the graduating class ““Every day, troopers help keep our roads, neighborhoods, schools, and communities safe. I’m immensely grateful to the sacrifices they make in the line of duty. Congratulations to today’s graduates. Let’s keep working together to bring down crime, invest in our communities, and build a Michigan where everyone can thrive.”
The Michigan State Police is actively seeking new applicants for the 153rd class of the Academy, to begin in May of next year. Those interested can apply on the jobs tab of the MSP website.
