Portage Lake District Library is joining the celebration of global cultures this week with the Keweenaw International Children’s Festival, building momentum leading into the weekend’s Festival of Nations with the university.
Throughout the week, families and children can stop by the library to explore cultural displays and exhibits, complete a world explorer passport through different activities and challenges, and discover children’s games from around the globe.
Young visitors will have the opportunity to explore books, dolls, and clothing representing many cultures, offering a hands-on introduction to world traditions and customs.
On Saturday, the Portage Lake District Library opens the final day of the festival at 11 a.m., where children who have completed their passports can earn snacks and recognition for participating in the program.
