The Tigers outlasted the Twins 5-4 yesterday. Kevin McGonigle and Riley Greene homered. Troy Melton pitched into the sixth, gave up all four Minnesota runs, but was good enough to earn the win. Kenley Jansen earned his 18th save.
The Tigers host the Twins again tonight. Drew Anderson will start against Dean Kremer. Because of Jeffers volleyball on 99.3 The Lift, Tigers coverage will begin at 6:15 on KBear 102.3.
The Brewers scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, then held off the Cubs to claim a 4-3 victory. Jackson Chourio’s two-run single was the big blow. Chourio scored on Christian Yelich’s sacrifice fly to make the score 4-2. Pete Crow-Armstrong hit a solo home run off Trevor Megill in the top of the ninth, but Megill was able to close it out for his 27th save.
The Brewers entertain the Cubs again tonight. Jacob Misiorowski will pitch against David Peterson.
Milwaukee has added pitcher Grant Anderson to the injured list with right biceps tendinitis. Brandon Sproat has been brought back up from Nashville.
