A 72-year-old Wisconsin man died Friday after his three-wheeled motorcycle crashed on US-41 near Washington Mine Road in Keweenaw County.
The Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office responded to the single-vehicle accident at 7:40 p.m. Deputies found the motorcycle had left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver was ejected from the machine and sustained critical injuries.
Mercy EMS transported the man to a nearby medical facility for treatment. He later succumbed to his injuries.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation. The Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office has not released further details pending notification of the family.
