The community is invited to celebrate the dedication of the McLean Brownell River Trail on Friday.
Don McLean and his brother Norman McLean have donated 21.6 acres to the Tech Trails System and Portage Lake Golf Course. An approximate 1.5-kilometer trail will run through the property and further connect the Tech Trails System to its 40-kilometer network.
“It’s a unique piece of property that the pair has put into Tech’s hands to ensure future students and residents have access to quality recreation opportunities,” said Don McLean.
The dedication ceremony will include a 30-minute walking tour of the McLean Brownell River Trail. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. on July 31st. Those interested in attending the dedication will arrive at 22109 River Trails Road. Clothes and shoes suitable for hiking are recommended for those planning to join the tour.
