The Upper Peninsula Arts and Culture Alliance announced Tuesday it has received two grant awards from the National Endowment for the Arts totaling $50,000.
One award for $30,000 comes from the Grants for Art Projects program and will support a regional mini-grant program to provide direct funding to organizations for projects that support artists and economic activity. The grant will also help expand access to art experiences in communities across the 15-county region.
The second award earned by the UPAC Alliance, for $20,000, will support a comprehensive study examining how arts and cultural activities contribute to employment, business development and economic growth in the Upper Peninsula.
