Career and Technical Education students in the Keweenaw Peninsula will organize an exciting competition event set for next week.
On Tuesday, the Copper Country’s CTE students will invite groups to the first Pike Tank Entrepreneurship Event. The hands-on learning experience will challenge students to think like business owners and innovators.
In collaboration with Breakwater FCU, the CCISD and community partners, the Pike Tank will have students participate over a full day of activities.
In the morning, groups will break out to start conceptualizing a new business. During each pitch competition, students will present their ideas for solving real-world challenges to a panel of local business and marketing experts.
The day also includes keynote addresses from regional leaders to help inspire students before they start formulating ideas.
In addition to the work students will do on the day of Pike Tank, students also led the organization for the local student pitch competition. They helped by creating the event’s logo, writing a press release for regional media outlets and working closely with program partners to establish the inaugural event.
Those interested in learning more about the students’ work to organize the first Pike Tank entrepreneurship event at the Hancock Community Hub next week can find more details online.
