In boys high school basketball last night…

- Baraga downed Hancock 68-40.
- Calumet edged Lake Linden-Hubbell 56-53. John Golus scored 15 for the Copper Kings, and Andrew Junttila had 12. Josh Daavettila had 19 for the Lakes, Blake Lebo added 18, and Bodie Fortin 11.
- Jeffers stopped Ewen-Trout Creek 47-39.
- Dollar Bay-Tamarack City stuffed Ontonagon 73-47.
- Chassell fell to Wakefield-Marenisco 87-52. Dayne Tarvis led the Panthers with 19 points. Luke Tarvis had 15, and Brayden Larson added 10.
- Forest Park outscored L’Anse 86-61. Sam Lee of the Purple Hornets led all scorers with 33, while Lyle Price paced the Trojans with 26.
In girls play…
- Houghton shaded Kingsford 40-36. Ruby Zawada had 13 points for the Gremlins, and Ellie Hainault had 10 points and 8 rebounds. Aubrie Moore netted 21 for the Flivvers.
- Calumet shut down Lake Linden-Hubbell 63-32. Kiirsi Johnson led the Copper Kings with 17 points.

College Basketball
Both Michigan Tech lost at Northern Michigan last night…
The 12th-ranked men’s team fell to the 22nd-ranked Wildcats 70-64. Dylan Kuehl scored 23 for Northern. Dawson Nordgaard paced the Huskies with 18 points, and Marcus Tomashek added 15.
The women dropped a 68-57 decision to the 20th-ranked Wildcats. Jacy Weisbrod scored 16 for the Wildcats and C.J. Romero netted 15. Soraya Timms had 17 for the Huskies.
The Wildcats travel to Ferris State tomorrow. The Huskies play at Ferris State on Monday.
College Hockey
The Michigan Tech hockey team has the weekend off.
The Northern Michigan hockey team entertains Lake Superior State tonight and tomorrow.
GLHL
The Portage Lake Pioneers will host the Eagle River Falcons tonight at 7:30, and the M and M Shamrocks tomorrow at 7:30.
The Calumet Wolverines will entertain the Shamrocks tonight at 7:30, and the Falcons tomorrow at 7:30.
NHL
The Red Wings are off until February 26th because of the Olympic break.
NBA
Cody Cunningham poured in 42 points as the Pistons returned from the All-Star break with a 126-111 victory over the Knicks last night. Cunningham added 13 assists. Tobias Harris grabbed 10 rebounds.
The Pistons visit the Bulls tomorrow. Coverage will begin at 7:35 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Bucks resume play tonight at New Orleans.
MLB
The Tigers begin their Grapefruit League schedule with a game against the Yankees tomorrow.
The Brewers open their Cactus League campaign tomorrow against a split Guardians squad.
Milwaukee has extended manager Pat Murphy’s contract. The new deal reworks the final season of his previous contract, and adds two more seasons, with a club option for 2029.
