As a reminder winter parking enforcement has begun in communities around the Copper Country. Within the last 24 hours cities and townships will begin to enforce overnight street parking. Cities such as Houghton request vehicles be removed from the roadway for the hours between 2 am and 7 am. These ordinances are in place to allow snow plows as much room as possible while cleaning streets each morning. As well as keep residents’ cars from becoming buried by departments of public works. Those interested in specific rules for your community should contact your township or city office for details.
